4th Zagreb International Chamber Music Festival - artistic director: Susanna Yoko Henkel



This year's chamber music festival took place from October 10th to 17th.


Seven sold out concerts at the Croatian Music Institute.


Opening concert with "A Soldier's Tale" by Igor Stravinsky, with Krešimir Mikić, Susanna Yoko Henkel, Alexandra Gruber, Søren Nils Eichberg, Matthew McDonald, Bence Bogányi, Tobias Unger, Guillaume Jehl und Christian Langer (f.l.t.r.)

Susanna Yoko Henkel elected as „Artist in Residence“ of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2009/2010 season

The Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes Susanna Yoko Henkel to be their „Artist in Residence“ during the 2009/2010 season. This close collaboration includes several performances of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto as well as different chamber music projects and a school project. Susanna has already worked with this excellent orchestra in 2005 and is very excited about returning to Duisburg for many great concerts!

Susanna Yoko Henkel at the Bachwoche Ansbach in 2009

 

Susanna is looking forward to again participating in the renowned Ansbacher Bachwoche. The artist, who released a highly praised recording of all Bach Solo Sonatas and Partitas in 2006, feels especially connected to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach. At August 2, 2009 Susanna Yoko Henkel will perform a Matinee concert at the Orangerie Ansbach together with pianist Itamar Golan.

New CD release in May 2009

 

Susanna Yoko Henkel recorded duo works from Halvorsen, Kodaly, Eisler and Schulhoff together with her cellist brother Tonio Henkel. The new CD will be out on May 22nd, 2009.
